It's true

I won't say they should be 7-1 -- they were lucky to be in the opener with the Falcons

But to say the Saints should be 6-2 now is not out of line

I guess with this line of thinking, Lions should be 7-1. They were beating Buffalo 14-0, before many defensive lapses and missing 3 FGs caused them to lose 17-14. But hey...the Lions were dominating the whole game! Let's just give them the win!

Fascinating

Too bad this is not comparable to the Saints, who basically lost b/c of one Brees pick

Your reading comprehension isn't a strong suit, is it? When did i say the Saints should be 7-1? All I said was that they were three extremely close losses away from only having one loss. I'm not making excuses for them, they lost. They deserve, and have, a 4-4 record.

My point of bringing that up was to show that they're still a good team, and to defend why I thought it wasn't far-fetched to have them in the NFCCG with the path I had them predicted on. They've been playing better, and had they been able to close out even only 2 out of the 3 narrow losses, people would be talking about the Saints as one of the best teams in the league at 7-1 or 6-2.

Do 3 or 4 unfortunate/clumsy/boneheaded mistakes really change how good a team is? Because right now that's all that is separating the Saints from one of the best records in the NFL. (Again not making excuses, they made those mistakes and it cost them games, but do you see my point?)
