The last time I flew I bought the little mini bottles of liquor at Spec's and I went through security with them. Just put them in a plastic bag and take it out of your carry on and you shouldn't have a problem. You don't need to put them in a shampoo bottle.

The link does say that you can't legally drink them, put just wait till the Attendant passes and pour it up.
