I disagree with this and my opinion seems wildly unpopular. How does a competitive, close loss, not prove more about the level your team is at compared to some shitty win over a shite team?

To me, the regular season is to determine how good teams are. Losses can help determine that.

So you just want Vegas to rank the teams then? Your playoff would be Alabama, Florida State, Baylor, and Michigan St. Sorry Miss St. Great season, but nobody really cares about winning games.

And that would still be your playoff if LSU beats Alabama 27-14. Stupid idea.

The World Cup does shite like this. It sucks.

It isn't your fault that the conference you play in may have a down year or two. Schedules are made years in advance when teams are completely different.
