In the '90s I read in USA Today that 25% of all black people in America eat at McDonald's at least once a week.
A few years ago I was eating at a hospital cafeteria. Cliches notwithstanding, the food wasn't bad at all. There was baked chicken and fish. Chicken fried steak with country gravy. They even had some passable gumbo. Not flavored like a gourmet would insist on (hospitals force you to add your own salt and pepper, for obvious reasons) but certainly edible.
Some black guy was standing near the checkout chatting up the cashier. He finally left, but only after announcing in a loud voice, "I'm goin' to McDonald's and get me sumpin' to EAT!"
