How did a bee/wasp get into your throat without you noticing?
I was playing golf and eating a small bag of cheetos...driving in the cart and poured some chips into my mouth and something flew into the cart and hit my shoulder, but when I looked down to see what it was and brush it off, I didn't see anything. So I chewed the chips and swallowed, not realizing that it had somehow ended up in my mouth.
It was a completely random and freak thing. When I swallowed, it felt like I had swallowed a piece of glass or something, but I soon realized that something had stung/bitten me. It was a very strange situation, and I ended up making the adult decision and getting a rain check and peacing out. And I'm glad I did cuz on the way home my throat started swelling shut and I drove straight to the ER.

Had a surgery for sleep apnea where they removed the soft palate, uvula, etc. Pretty much looks like I-10 when i open my mouth.
After the surgery, i had an issue of liquids coming back up through my nose if i drank too quickly. It occurs commonly from having that surgery, but that has stopped as I adjusted.
You are pretty miserable for about a week after the surgery.

A couple weeks ago I got stung in the back of my throat by something (I assume either a bee or a wasp), and in the ER, my uvula was so swollen and elongated that it started going down my throat and hitting my gag reflex and made me throw up over and over. I had to lean my body/head forward to keep it from gagging me until the steroid and benadryl kicked in. It was awful. It kept feeling like I had to cough something up, but I couldn't because it was my goddamn uvula..it was such a weird feeling. And let's just say that I'm glad I didn't have a pair of scissors that day, because I'd have seriously considered it.
frick every word of that.

Mine would get irritated when I slept at night due to snoring and sleeping with mouth wide open.
Went to the ENT one morning when it was hurting. He used a string (looked like dental floss) that was soaked in some sort of chemical. He looped it around my uvula, pulled it tight and BOOM...no more uvula. The chemical strong sealed the wound as well.
Hurt for about a week as it healed. DO NOT cut that shite off yourself.
