I think this is where the message is getting lost. Our health care professionals are much more protected in treating patients here rather than there, therefore there is less risk of spreading it in the US.

In the Dallas case the exposure was much greater as Duncan was a walk-in and therefore there was a significant period before diagnosis and the staff was not well prepared for that articular instance. HCP's like the doctor in NYC and Ms. Hickox (sp?) are much more likely to have Ebola if they are spending time in West Africa.

Finally, if we are a major contributor to fixing this thing in West Africa, with thousands of people successfully treated by the US, we will have a large vocal community to fight against the anti-American rhetoric that is slowly taking over the region. Also, the US will be better prepared to handle any homegrown bio-terrorism and / or natural outbreak.
