He was born with one foot in Maine and the other in NH at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and was officially a resident of NH at birth. Much of his family always lived in NH and he has had a home here for many years. He "officially" moved his primary residence, as you guessed, after the 2012 elections. Shaheen is a Missouri transplant.
