go ahead and get the Zagg tempered glass. i've dropped my iPhone 6 and it cracked the tempered glass but not my phone. i emailed zagg and they sent out a new one, no questions asked . well worth the $34.99

IlikeLSUToo ordered several and checked them out. Take his word for it if he shows up, but I seem to remember him suggesting they're the same product in different wrapping, so going cheap was the way to go.

Don't let price be a deciding factor. You don't get what you pay for. Since that thread I've had a chance to see a Zagg tempered glass protector as well as a couple other brands. Clarity and feel are still identical to the $4.99 one. Sure, the $4.99 doesn't have the free replacement perk of Zagg. But I could buy 7. Zagg is a ripoff.
EDIT:
One thing to note about these screen protectors. They are more fragile than your standard screen. That means if you drop your phone, the impact is more likely to take a chip of the screen protector off, whereas it wouldn't have been a hard enough drop to actually damage the screen with or without a protector.
My primary reason for having it is to prevent scratches of all sizes and depths on the screen itself to improve resale value, without sacrificing image clarity or feel (something the plastic screen protectors don't quite accomplish).

Much more reasonable than the Zagg scam.
