There's not a ton of trust put in the QB position, nor is there an emphasis on a consistent passing game to win ballgames. LSU's approach to winning is to have a solid power running game; a great defense; and passing game that limits backbreaking TOs and occasionally hits a big play. That's it, and love it or hate it, it has been successful.

IMO Lee, Jefferson, Mett, and Jennings/Harris would have all had much better stats had they played somewhere else. They probably also would/will have "developed" more. However, LSU just hasn't asked them to do a lot.

Its been a "weak" link because:

A. LSU has won big with poor QB play. Why change something that seems to be working?

B. When they do need great QB play, they're asking guys to step away from what has been asked of them all year, i.e. to carry the offense. It's difficult to just "turn it on."
