I just don't think Lebron has the mental fortitude to stand up to something like the Bad Boy Pistons, the Twin Towers in Houston or the Celtic dynasty for 48 minutes IMO. When he was with the Cavs, he flat out quit on several occasions in the playoffs against teams that weren't playing him nearly as tough as NBA defenses in the 80s would have. He has improved leaps and bounds in that department, but he essentially had to learn how to do it by watching Dwayne Wade pick up the slack for him time and against that first season together. Dude got shut down in the clutch by a 90 year old Shawn Marion in the 2011 Finals.

I will say Lebron would have flourished with the showtime Lakers, though.

I call bullshite. The dude is physically built for contact and had he played in an era where physicality were rewarded, he would have done just fine. Maybe a worse shooter, but unstoppable going to the rack.

I say again--players play to their strengths to be elite. Saying LeBron would have done fine with contact in no way invalidates Jordan's ability to do so.

Also, frick you for making me defend James

One forearm shiver from Laimbeer would have Lebron doubled over on the bench. The Pistons couldn't exist in the pussified world of the present day NBA.
