First of all, not everyone who shares the view that production from the QB position needs to be improved has been a Miles basher. Some fans happen to not swing wildly from one extreme to the other or want to be in any camp. Most fans who want a change at QB want to see it happen because they think it will BENEFIT the team the same way finally benching Welter for Beckwith has benefitted the team. As noted above, we are now at the point that we are going to ride Jennings the rest of the year barring injury. But
I'm a sunshine pumper.....I also wish that LSU could get better production out of their qb position. I also think Harris is going to be a good one here. I just don't think he gives us the best chance to win NOW. You aren't at practice everyday. You also aren't privy to some information that some know about the situation. The coaches know who the qb is with the most upside...they also know who gives them the best chance to win now. It never dawns on you armchair qb's that the coaches know we are limited at QB this year, and are calling games that give us the best chance to win.....and even when we win a big game....it is never good enough for you guys....you guys are the true blue collar workers in life, and will never be leaders...you just don't have that big picture, leadership type quality.......not a bad thing...just a fact.

Harris will get a fair shot in the Spring and Fall
I hope you are right Roger. If there is a fair critique of Miles, it's that he is slow to change (see, e.g., Welter). My biggest fear is that it will take a loss if not two for Harris to get another shot and obviously I don't want to see LSU lose.

Bama's secondary is weak. Been shown several times this year.
I hope Jennings lights them up.

And y'all still think that we were the better team..
Dont put words in my mouth. Someone claimed it was a FLUKE victory. The stats you posted show how cloe a contest it was. That closeness was reflected in the score. Saban should have placed more emphasis on kicking.
Special teams counts. Pleas post the special teams stats.
Those stats are a draw, we won the special teams. Thanks for the victory.

I think and believe Harris will have every chance to win the job in the Spring/Fall. We've seen flashes of what he's capable of, but he's just not there yet. If Miles had conceded the season and just thrown him out there to sink or swim, we wouldn't be in position to finish strong and possibly have a 10 win season and a good bowl.

I love my Tigers and we are a solid QB away from being a very dangerous team.
Jennings has made major improvement this year. He played really well for most of the game, and made some throws that we haven't even been attempting in the past.....did he make a few mistakes...sure...does drew brees still make multiple mistakes? I mean come on.....the improvement has been great. It's just the Brandon Harris guys that WANT to be right that keep harping on the negative.....even though they have no real idea what goes on in practice everyday.

This is a question about whether we need a better QB (which I think has to be the general consensus) and whether that better QB is currently sitting on our bench wearing #6 (more open for debate but put me in the camp that says yes).
I would alter this somewhat to say that it's clear we need better QB play going into next season to have a chance to compete for the West. I really don't care how that happens, or who wins the job. It's clear Harris has the better gun and looks better moving around the pocket. But I'm not in the "Jennings is Horrible" camp either. I think he and Harris will continue to improve in spring camp and beyond.

I think Harris has far more talent if he can catch up to the college game. It's pretty obvious there are throws AJ can't make. I have no doubt AJ will improve some, but think his skill set is limiting the offense.

I respect anyone with this opinion. I think there is some validity to this. I don't think Jennings is the answer but I realize this is not the week where Les will make the switch and he's probably right about that. Very valid point, even if I happen to think Harris can do everything Jennings is doing.

All true. And it was true about DJ Welter/Kendall Beckwith too. If you are saying give the coaches the benefit of the doubt, I agree. If you are saying they are infallible, I do not.
quote:
It never dawns on you armchair qb's that the coaches know we are limited at QB this year, and are calling games that give us the best chance to win.....and even when we win a big game
Oh it dawns on me. It dawns on me every time I watch the offense. We are very limited with Jennings at QB, there is little doubt about that. In fact, that is precisely what scares me about him. I don't think he is a guy who can win it for us if Bama or another opponent is successful in shutting down our running game (like Miss State was). If we can run through Bama and minimize turnovers, and if our defense can play with the emotion and tenacity that we saw Saturday night, we're in good shape. As a Tiger supporter, I would just wish I could add to that statement "and even if they shut down our running game, we have a QB who can get the ball into the hands of our dangerous receiving corp." I cannot make that last statement, however.

BUT your prediction about LSU/BAMA is the most positive thing you said.......PLEASE PLEASE go with this.....IF you will pick bama I will not mess with your sorry/ eh uh I will not mess with you again...promise.

We had a great win...one of the best since Ole Miss came in # 3 as well in 1959.
But we need a better game plan for Bama..
Bama has the benefit of a week off AND the tape from the LSU-OLE MISS game...and has better athletes.
Bama is beatable .. but we need more creativity.
I saw ONE screen pass and not a single slant.
Am I wrong? The screen pass worked.
We do not need to go wild, but definitely need more wrinkles.
I also noticed that Jennings stared at his ONE SELECTED OPTION and did not not look beyond that...he has got to go thru progressions.

8/16 is fine when you rush for 300+ and your defense holds them under 20 points.
8/16 is 50 percent, Wallace threw for 58 percent against bama. so if 58 percent would make some people here feel better, lets go to the first drive of the game.
here Jennings throws the ball away to prevent a sack and save 15 yards
here the DB gets away with an astoundingly obvious PI on Quinn
there. take those 2 incompletions away and Jennings is at 58 percent. feel better?
btw, the bama offense scored 10 on ole miss too. the other TD came on a fumble recovery caused by this facemask they somehow got away with
the difference is our defense didnt give up 23 points to fricking bo wallace

I think Les has the offense he wants. Im not sure he is concerned with much else.
He loves to pound the ball and it works 8-10 times a year.
My questions are: Considering LSU has already lost 2 games.
Would it be more prudent to play Harris (At least some meaningful snaps) in prep for next year to make a real run?
Hasn't he seen enough of Jennings to know what he's got?
Don't get me wrong, If LSU beats the gumps no one would be happier than me BUT
I expect the midget to take away or at least limit our run game. I doubt LSU wears that team out (they are 3 deep at most spots)
Either way, If LSU does lose I would very much prefer Miles gives Harris a ton of playing time for both evaluation and next year.
