Thanks BoardReader. Good info. I will be in Dublin for 4 days. What is a good area to book a hotel. I would like to be walking distance to places if possible.
Depends on how nice you want. Personally, I wouldn't bother with the super upscale places-- the price and quality difference in the city itself is minimal; since you are angling to be in the middle of stuff, there is a hotel directly across the street from Christchurch Cathedral is a Jury's Inn

On that page, you can see via an inset map how close everything is; it is on the parade route, even. I'd recommend trying to book as early as possible, as there are a ton of tourists for the parade.
Anyway, if you find a place and want to ask if Iknow anything about it, let me know. Oh-- and Temple Bar is a good restaurant/pub district about 150 yards from the front door of that hotel. Irish beef at an FXB steakhouse is pretty solid, and in a land where non-bland food is rare, a good experience.

Thanks, I'll check into it. Is one side of the River better than the other? North v South? Looks like hotel you mentioned was on south side.

Also, hotel doesn't have to be fancy as long as it is centrally located. I don't plan on being in the room very much other than sleeping.
