I don't really know what your proposal is. Muslim groups, some of them, do condemn violence. I think entities like CAIR are enablers if not outright connected to terrorism, but it's also not surprising that groups who really don't see themselves as connected to terroristic entities don't want to be responsible for something they're not involved in.

My proposal is to push the Western Muslims into being more proactive in weeding out the radicals. These zealots aren't just happening to stumble upon their radical philosophy like finding a quarter on the ground, it's something they learn and usually from someone local they have built a relationship with. People in those positions are known within their communities.

I thought the addicted relative analogy used earlier in the thread was brilliant. To stick with that, what needs to happen is the non-radicalized Muslims need to start practicing some very loud and very public "tough love".
