This is a simple rule that I've learned years ago. If someone needs a loan because they are strapped for cash, how in the hell are they going to catch up, and then have the extra money to pay you back? They won't. Not only that, it's like they never remember that you loaned them money.

This is not always accurate. A lot of times they just don't want to pay you. They can catch up if they want to, they just don't want to. I have people ask me for money and they have a bigger TV than I do, brand new car while I have a 15 year old one, go out and do more things than I do, better phone.....

Currently one person owes me and they're paying me back as agreed. It's for their future and they're young so I helped them. But bullshite that it's a gift. I NEED MY MONEY and I made that very clear when I handed it over. Pretty much ready to cut everyone off because I try to use it as a teaching moment and most people don't learn and it's just leads to stress waiting to get back the money I worked hard to save.

I just try to make it uncomfortable for people to ask me now and most know not to ask unless they have a very good reason, they don't want to hear me preach!
