I hope he gets the ball out quicker. He's gonna get battered if he doesn't.

Don't know if you've been paying attention, that Texans D actually sucks pretty bad outside of Watt.
They can rush the passer. That's it.

Based on the work he put in during the preseason?
Based on the fact that this offense has a bunch of underutilized talent on the outside. Even an average QB would really make this offense go. Look I'm not saying Mett is going to take them to the Super Bowl, but he adds a dimension to the offense that has been sorely needed... The ability to stretch the field. Hunter, Walker, and Wright are probably the happiest people about this move. He might get sacked 783473834 times but he gives the Titans the ability to consistently put pressure on a secondary.
There's all the talent in the world around him. His success will depend on the o-line.

And it's not like Mett hasn't had experience facing great pass rushing. Hell, he's faced Clowney before. We know that's what the Texans will do because that's their best arrow in the quiver. Titans have weapons. Kendall Wright has been playing well in spite of their horrible QB play. Hunter's been a letdown, but Mett's the only QB on that roster that can take advantage of Hunter's speed.
This is the perfect spot for him to make his debut with the Texans on the back end of back to back road games and coming off of a MNF loss. I see no reason why the Titans can't be competitive vs the Texans.

That's funny coming from a Saints fan. After Sunday, Titans and Saints will probably still have the same number of wins this year. And historically, if it weren't for nola loving their losers, there would be no saints fan. GTFO you bandwagoner
What does this have to do about the Saints? I get the feeling you don't watch too much NFL.

I think Shonn Greene is a bum. Jury's still out on Sankey. But you stick the rest of those guys on the Broncos and they'd be really good players.

I hate that argument. You can put 99% of the receivers in the league on the Broncos and they would be really good players. Doesn't mean Mett is surrounded by talent. Everything is relative.

They've been decent against the run outside of the Giants game. Murray went for like 130 but it was on 33 carries or something. Doesn't help that they're constantly on the field due to terrible offense.
The secondary is definitely susceptible though and Cushing can't cover for shite on TEs and backs

You're contradicting yourself.
If you can put them with Peyton Manning and they succeed, then their talent isn't the issue. It's the key variable instead, the QB.
If Mett provides an upgrade we can reasonably expect those pieces around him to improve as well.

ETA: As for the Peyton angle. He made Austin Collie a really good player. You put a bunch of Austin Collie's on a team, doesn't mean a QB is surrounded by talent.

You tried to correlate being a fan of a franchise to their success. You made the stupid comment. If fans went by your logic, there would only be fans of winning teams.
By that logic, the Saints wouldn't have had any fans until 2006. I hear the same shite from Saints fans all the time, like they forget what they were for decades. Yea the Titans suck right now, guess I shouldn't be a fan
Edit: See other posts in this thread. I clearly don't watch any football ever.

I seriously doubt they are starting him with the expectation that he will win right away and make his WRs look better the way an established NFL starter does.
Whitehurst may be a career NFL backup but I would guess he is far more polished than Mettenberger. I think they understand where this season is headed and want to see what they have at the QB position.
Frankly I wish the Texans would do the same, even though I know Mallett likely isn't the best "win now" option

Forget Manning as the QB... Delanie Walker has the 2nd most yards of any TE in the league... With Charlie freakin Whitehurst behind center.... Think about that for a second.
If you don't think Kendall Wright is good, there's no point in even having this discussion. You clearly don't pay attention if that's the case.

And as for Delanie Walker, I've always been a fan. But let's pump the brakes on him being a top 5 TE in the league.

From Nashville area, grew up a Titans fan. You clearly don't pay attention or are severely confusing me with someone else. RTRAmerica and I are the main people on here that have anything to say about the Titans.
