Dude...

The only thing that is similar with Jennings and Mett is that they play QB at LSU. That's it.

You keep talking about the big change from Mett in 2012 to 2013... The change was Cam Cameron. Mett was under Cameron for 1 season and it made a big change in his game. Jennings is in year 2 and looks exactly like he did last year vs Iowa.

In 2012, Mett had a 58.8% completion percentage and a 64.9% in 2013, his only year with Cameron. . Right now, Jennings is at 50% on the year and has only been above 53.8% in one game. And that includes the cupcake games.

Mett was actually a legit passing threat and a QB that could sit back, thrown the ball 30+ times a game and shred the opponent and get the win. If Jennings has to throw the ball just 25 times in a game, we will lose and lose badly.

Mett could make every throw in the book. The only thing Jennings can completely is the occasional deep ball to Dural or a check down to the FB out the backfield. He is horribly inaccurate or just about every other throw. And struggles to make the right decision with the ball and go through his progressions. He sits there and waits for the deep ball to Dural to develop, which takes a while, and now defenses are trying to take that away so it's not always there, and by the time he realizes it's not open, the D is getting pressure because it takes so long for a deep route to develop and he either still just throws it up and hopes Dural can make the play or takes a sack.

Oh and this time in 2012, Jeremy Hill was emerging as the clear cut RB1 for us. I don't think you can say we have a better running game now than we did then. On par? Yes. But also you gotta factor in that opposing Ds aren't worried about Jennings passing the ball like they were with Mett. Teams stack 8-9 in the box and just man up our WRs on the outside. And he's still a 50% completion % QB. Teams didn't do that with Mett because he was a legit QB and would tear you apart if teams did that. And that opened up the running lanes for Hill.
