LSU has increased ticket sales by a ton the last couple years. He has given direction to a program that had stalled.

He deserves to be properly paid. 12th best in SEC was far too low. It's just up to 1.5mm from 1.1mm, it's not like he has received an unimaginable raise.

It doesn't put him into the top 30 highest paid coaches.

We do not know how much, if any, is guaranteed either.


EDIT: Just found out it is only a two year extension.

It's all guaranteed, it's a contract. Not like for NFL players, where they have to actually make the roster to get paid.

If LSU fires him this year, he'll be due all of that money. If he gets another job coaching, LSU would get to deduct his salary at his new school from what they owe him.
