How can this pass a constitutional challenge? Does this not restrict interstate trade? I thought that was reserved for the FEDS.

I am not a lawyer and have never slept at a Holiday Inn Express.

The commerce clause is one of the most freedom destroying laws we face.

No.

This is all intrastate. MI can do whatever the f' they want within their own borders.

The people of MI can still buy a Tesla, they just have to buy it from another state. Or Tesla has to setup a "traditional" car dealership and meet MI laws.
