no concept of what Miles and Cameron even want the offense to be
What do they want it to be?
If they want a bland, predictable Big 10-style offense from 30 years ago then they're there.

If running the ball the entire game gets wins vs Ole Miss and Bama then I'm all for it. I think you know (everyone else too) this will not work. Not even close. LSU has to throw the ball to win.
Yeah, since you can see into the future and all

Cmon man
You gotta know that when teams know your one dimensional you cannot beat the upper teams

We are not going to win by running the ball up the middle all day against Ole Miss and Alabama. I guarantee it. If you think we will the you are a fricking idiot.
And I also guarantee we will try to run the ball up the middle all day against those two teams because Jennings is quite simply a bad quarterback. Plain and simple.

This isn't stunning considered LSU is playing with inexperienced quarterbacks

Then recruit QB's that CAN throw a football into Lake Pontchartrain while standing on the Causeway and that are mentally advanced enough to learn their progressions, defensive reads and can quickly process information.
The list has been posted time and again. Going back to 2006, we've had half a dozen busts that were four stars or better (Shep was a five-star). They were from different states and of varying ethnicities, backgrounds, and styles.
Why are our 4-stars so much worse than everyone else's? Fact is, Cam may well be Gary Crowton redux. I don't want that to be the case, but I have eyes.

I think what you mean it they have to throw the ball more with more variety, yes?
Wanting more balance from the offense is a legitimate want and something that this offense needs to improve.

Jordan Jefferson did pretty well against Alabama running a ground-heavy attack.
Before you clowns start up, 1/9 was not the only time he played against Alablamma.

Has anyone pointed out that our passing stats include 3 games in which we trailed after 3 quarters by the scores of:
24-13
31-10
34-7
24-13
31-10
34-7

This is quite possibly the dumbest comment in this thread. Cam has had one full year to work with Jennings and even less to work with Harris. Both have very limited experience in the offense.
Cameron is in his second year. We had a very dynamic offense last year with an experienced quarterback. Of course we're going to take a step back when you have no experience at the QB position.

Jennings is not going to get better.
Maybe Harris will
Maybe Harris will

Which scenario is more likely:
Gary Crowton and Cam Cameron both love the toss lead, or that both of those coordinators run what Les Miles wants?

Yeah, because true sophomore quarterbacks never improve...

Maybe Harris won't. Maybe you are just making stuff up to support your narrative.
Harris looked great in two games. He has looked far from great in 2 others. If he's not ready, you can't just throw him to the wolves and hope his ego survives.

We lost a lot of valuable experience on the offensive side of the ball, no doubt. But other teams do the same and manage to field offenses that don't routinely look like a bunch of 10yos playing out on the field behind the church. Look at what Bama lost on the offensive side of the ball last year. They've even installed a new OC and offensive system. Is their offense lights out? No. Does it look like they know what the hell they're doing at least most of the time? Yes.
Please explain.

If you need NFL calibre players at every skill position to make your offense work, you might want to re-think it. You can't count on a strong QB, two stud receivers, and Jeremy Hill every year.

Wait, so Les is ruling the offense because Crowton and Cameron have a similar play that other teams in college football also run? Makes sense.

Our passing game is horrible. That's a fact.
This is what blows my mind: Everyone agrees with that, but there's a lot of people who still insist that LSU should throw the ball even though the passing game is horrible.
It's like saying we should win the game by doing the very thing we are worst at. WTF???
Posted on 10/21/14 at 1:48 pm to Galactic Inquisitor
I didn't say throw him in there. You're putting words in my mouth. Fact is that right now we simply don't have a functioning quarterback and we will lose to Ole Miss this weekend because we will try to run into an 8 or 9 man front and fall behind early.

Name another team that lost as much on offense as we did:
Starting QB
Starting RB
Starting WR1
Starting WR2
Starting OG1

Tell me, what did Bama lose?

So you admit that we lose all of this, but expect no dropoff. Legit.
