Home runs because every player in a pool of tens of thousands has a chance to compete for it.
TD passes only a couple hundred have/will have a chance to go for it, because QB is such a lucrative position.

Meh. I agree that home runs is bigger, but I don't agree with this reasoning. Baseball only has a few guys who try for home runs. Everyone bats, yes. But they have different roles/ goals.
