Did not know that. I figgered they laid up at night because I always saw em stretched out on the top of the water or on a log or the bank catchin some rays...

Before I found out my buddy liked to eat em, I'd sneak down to the pond and shoot em with a 12 gauge. I've done the low crawl many a time to get within range before they ducked under the water or slid off a log or the bank when they saw me.
