Yes he did. JJ's 2009 season was pretty damn good for a first year starter and his passer rating was higher than Flynn ' s was in 07..

The offense was hampered by a conservative passing attack where the first down marker was viewed as a stop sign though. LSU was king of picking up 5 yards on third when they needed 6 and ranked 92nd in passing offense in 2009. It was an offense that sacrificed efficiency for security.
