People want to work. They want to accomplish. At least, most people, I think.
Ambition is something that helps advance our species.
You have an easy job. I've been there. It fricking sucks. I nearly purchased a cheap piece of land north of Birmingham. Was going to start a small farm. I wanted to work. I wanted to sweat.
Decided to go to graduate school. I sometimes think I should have bought that farm.
Backpacking through Europe or taking off to Cambodia or moving to wine country in California - it'll give you something to satisfy that ambitious desire for the short term, but you'll end up back at this point eventually.
Find a tough job. Conquer it.

I think you've got a great point here, and I've thought about that alot. I definitely plan on changing my career path. I just can't see myself doing the same thing long term.
On another note, I didn't want this thread to be all about diagnosing my current state of mind. Let's get philosophical and shite up in here. I know everyone here doesn't have it all figured out. Open up.
