He sees the fan base differently than we see ourselves. Let's be honest. We see ourselves as either surrogate players or coaches. So as such we can tell our players and coaches the truth as we see it. Saban will never accept this.
He sees the fan base as a huge mass of energy that should always be positive and supportive no matter what. When the players are playing poorly, Saban does not want us telling them what they already know. It's not useful and in fact may be harmful if carried out too far (see twitter threats). Saban wants us to be this sort of optimistic cosmic power juice that permeates the whole state. Tweets to players such as 22 shoudn't be "you suck. sit down." It should be "Keep your head up. You'll get the next one." He wants us to be that way all the time. He's got the criticism and teaching on his shoulders. We have the constant flow of support and unwaivering positive attitude on our shoulders. This stuff we control that can literally change a player's....neigh, a whole team's entire attitude from one of "we can't" to "we will and whoever gets in our way shall be crushed into oblivion." Can you imagine what we could be capable of if every fan just accepted their small part of the optimisitic cosmic crimson power nebulus 100%? I think he's onto something.

So, let's say I concede that you're definitely right. That, all humor aside, is -f'king exactly- how he thinks and what he expects of us. His only problem is that an alien race whose IQ is a 200 avg, and we also don't speak telepathically.
Seriously, you're so right it's painful... but he does need to live up in dis real world... based in the deep south.
