Learning to use the scope is the trickiest part of handgun hunting w/ a scope. First, the scopes I use are designed to be used w/ handguns so they have a longer than usual eye relief. Second, the most difficult part is learning to position your eye(s) w/ the scope so that you have a full field of view. Obviously it's different from shooting a rifle in that you don't have a cheek piece on the stock to anchor your face to. It just takes a lot of practice to get lined up w/ the scope. If you're off just a tiny bit, the scope picture will "black out."

This and 30mm tube scope along with not going higher then a 2 power scope. My best shot/kill was close to 100 yards with a super Blackhawk 44 mag, hand load to a 200 gr bullet.
