I keep hearing "not built to be a running team". Well why?

Lots of people in the past few weeks have been calling for more run playcalls as we have great YPC numbers.
The response I hear from Bobby and other "experts" on WWL is that the Saints "aren't built for" a run heavy, ground & pound offense. But then no one ever asks "Why?" Why can't we try press our clear advantage indicated by the YPC? Why can't we go more run heavy to take the load off an obviously frustrated Brees?
Every year in the offseason, Payton says we are going to put added emphasis on running the ball this year. He's got the run game now but won't go full steam with it.
Cliffs: There's no reason why we can't be a run first offense. I don't care how much $$ drew makes.

I OL actually excels in run blocking...I think we are built to be a run first team but CSP insists on being a pass first team in order to setup the run. I wish we'd get to be more balanced instead of having Drew chunk it around 57 times a game.

"not built to be a running team" means
"team was built by Sean Payton" which means
"Sean Payton was a QB, a QB coach, an offensive passing guru, and he is historically known to prefer passing over running" which eventually equals
"Saints weren't built to be a running team"
If an architect designs and builds a concrete park for senior citizens in wheelchairs to relax in, and then a bunch of kids discover that it's also good for skateboarding and doing tricks, that doesn't mean the park was built to be a skate park....

i wouldnt necessaryily say we were built to be run first. Its probably more accurate to say that putting a premium on big guards and fast tackles to protect Brees in the pocket has resulted in a line that turns out to be quite good at the run game.
Anyone who says we dont run becuase we arent built for it is a full of shite Payton apologist. The numbers this year prove we can do it when we want - even better than in 2009.

I wouldn't call Bobby Hebert an expert

I assume they mean CSP's brain cause we can run this year.

Ran the ball well in 06, 09, 11 and now 14.
Limit turnovers/cause turnovers and we'll be rolling.
