If so, so do you have tips on the coolest things to do and see? It is my first time in that part of the world. Going there on business and I am going to take an extra day on each side of the official activities. I will be busy during the day but should have most nights free.
I will be spending most of my time in BA, but am also planning on checking out a small town in Uruguay (Colonia del Sacramento) one day, wondering what else is must see.
Thanks.

I know a couple people who have been... They loved it. However, one did get his passport stolen by a transgender prostitute (not lying) so make sure you are careful down there.

If you're someone who likes to nod your head as you acknowledge people, don't do it down there unless you intend to tango with that person

I went back in 2008. It's such a beautiful city…really is the Europe of South America…the architecture is amazing. Nuevo de Julio is the largest street in the city…8 lanes each way…tons of bars and shops in that area that you can check out.

cabs dirt cheap, use only $10 bills local to pay them, some of the best steak and wine in the world, beautiful women, great wine country, dove hunting, other than that, it sucks

I know the steak is supposed to be awesome and the architecture looks great.
I have heard/read that you get a much better exchange rate if you pay in American dollars, but you have to be careful of scams like getting back fake money.

I'm in Argentina now. Bring a few grand in hundreds. They are giving 15-1 ratio on the streets of BA.

It's like going to Europe for a third the price. Fantastic city.

usually with the cabbies, you pay them in a big bill and they give you back a fist full of fake tens, come as close to you can with exact change for the fare, another tip, when leaving the hotel, even though there will be a cab lineup,, get the bellman to summons one
