Based on performance against State and NM State I thought Harris was ready for Auburn start. Guess I was wrong.
No you were not! A freshman will have his share of mistakes, confidence lost, and consistency issues.
The mistake is the pumpers thinking Jennings isn't a freshman (as far as live action) and would have done better. There simply are no indicators to prove Jennings would have had better success.
The right choice is starting the guy who is in the best long term interest of the program. Jennings had a solid test sample of games to prove he could get it done consistently, Harris deserves the same since he was deemed the better choice by the staff after multiple failures by Jennings and multiple great showings by Harris.
Why anyone thinks Jennings is more ready to go on the road into a hostile environment in the SEC is beyond my comprehension. Why is this a thought process of some. When has he done that before?

Its pretty simple, he has actually looked composed under pressure on several occasions, which Harris hasn't yet. I think a lot of you guys are a bit hung up on the "starter". Just because one advocates that Jennings should start does not necessarily indicate they think he is a better talent or long term option. Jennings has proven to be pretty calm under pressure, Harris has proven to provide a nice spark off the bench. This isn't a long term solution, but right now why not play to what both have shown an aptitude for? To have them go into a game sharing duties will take pressure off, and will hopefully lead to a frontrunner that can finish the season out.
I don't care about development, I want to win games; we just need to find the right recipe to finish this season strong.

I dont know many real football people that didnt want Harris to start. Miles made the right call.
Obviously, Jennings wasnt the answer. Miles gave him every chance. Get the start against mighty NMSU and completely play like crap? U deserve to lose your spot, especially if the other guy comes in 2 games in a row and out plays u.
We still had hope left to win something this year if we get by Auburn. Does anyone truly believe we win that game if we start Jennings?
We had no choice. Harris got rattled at a tough place by a tough team in his first start. Crap happens.
U arent going to win many in this division with poor QB play; no matter who the coach is or how many good players, u have.
