Shouldn't be in jail, but they shouldn't be SWAT anymore either. Hope this family gets paid, and they cops are back looking for speeders.
So police should not be held responsible for acts of criminal negligence as long as they were trying to catch a bad guy? They had a no-knock warrant issued on a house where the targeted criminal did not reside--and they had no idea who lived in the house.
What the frick do these pieces of shite have to do for some of you people to hold them accountable?

or just get rid of cops all together.
That's an illogical leap.
"If you say it's unnecessary to raid people's houses for a suspected small amount of drugs while performing little investigation then you might as well say that we shouldn't have cops at all."
That's your reasoning. I know you aren't that stupid.

i may be in the minority but i dont think the swat team is at fault. Id they were told expect alot of weapons and resist they are doing their job. They didnt intentionally hurt the child. Its a very unfortunate situation but if anyone is to blame its the childs parents.

You should learn how to read.

You are, most people have enough sense to think otherwise.

i am all for locking up meth dealers though so i didn't agree with your statement.
I went with the overreaction card because it was easy and fun and the OT-Lounge isn't some grand platform for debate.

Child's parents were staying there because their home in another state burnt down. By all accounts, they did not know that there was anything illegal going on at the house.

I'm not an expert on police tactics, but wouldn't the swat team just have been called to perform the raid and given information by the investigators? If that is the case, it really wouldn't be their fault.

That is because there was nothing illegal going on in the house.
The targeted criminal didn't even live there.

keep on keeping on putting these internet peoples in their place.

the i retract my statement about blaming parents. But i still dont blame the "swat team" they did a job they were told to do.

Keep on keeping on engaging in conversation and then when you get called on being full of shite excusing it as saying that I wasn't really serious. What's the point in engaging in the first place?

Not in the house, but outside the house. It's was the targeted criminal's mother's house.

it is 9:23 on a thursday morning and i am sitting at a computer at work waiting for someone to email me a bunch of shite. Cop story was most interesting thing around.
Can I ask you something? Why so serious?
- i'd also like to point out you focused on the short bullshite response portion of my answer when clearly there was much more substance. in the second portion. Lets just drop it though shall we?

Lol. What illegal activity was going on outside the house?
And you think that's justification for a no-knock warrant; his moms house?

The target sold drugs to an undercover agent outside the home the day before.

Never said it did. I think it is a completely fricked up situation, and one that could have been avoided by doing away with the militarization of police. But unless it is found out these cops knowingly lied or falsified documents, they were following orders.

@ some of the responses here. You'd think by reading this board that SWAT tried to intentionally hurt the baby. It's not like they peek through the window first to see if any kids are laying in bed.
Poor intelligence it appears and why not just wait for this Bou Bou skank to walk to her car or follow her to the store?

Link to some sort of proof that the target sold drugs Outside of the home and on the property? Oh, it's a confidential drug addict informant with nothing to gain; just a Good Samaritan. The same Good Samaritan that claimed the cops would be met with heavy artillery.
Who created the orders for the search? Who requested the warrant?
Is anyone ever responsible anymore or is everything bureaucratically bungled to the point where nobody is responsible because everyone is following orders?

I'm sure there will be a civil suit but it's crazy that there wasn't even an indictment.
Why would their be an indictment?
It is really sad, but the officers had information that led to believe an armed suspect was on the premise.
