Jake - I have to disagree here - I get your point about selfish acts being the root of evil, without evil intention.

However, this smacks more of desperation. Heck, he might have been cautious. Maybe he suspected he was infected, but wasn't showing the signs yet - he looked alright in that airport photo. Heck, if it was me, I'd want to be treated in the U.S.

This is a major outbreak - treatment in Liberia (or, even Nigeria, for that matter) under ideal circumstances would be a dicey proposition - with the system stressed by the current outbreak? Forget it. You won't even die comfortably. A bullet to the head would be the best treatment option at that point.

Staying in Liberia was suicide. With the recent news of us saving the 2 infected Americans, I'd have gambled, too.

But given that scenario, you damn well would have notified the hospital at least that you might have been exposed. He did not.
