Even the bad stuff is worth experiencing (short of assault/rape/getting arrested/having all your money stolen, etc.), so I don't regret a thing.

If you come to a greater understanding of how other people do things, and you acquire a cool story to tell, it's worth it.

Eastern Europe - Slovenia was really wonderful. Take a day trip up by Lake Bled. This was the best surprise of my travels. Ljubljana was a gorgeous city with great food and night life. Neat castle to visit and awesome outdoor activities right nearby. Lake Bled was just awesome and you can river raft and hike as well.

Estonia was nice, but only for a weekend because Tallin is not that big and there isn't much else to do there unless you take the ferry over to Finland.

Poland was cool and has good food. Krakow has a young scene with big university and lots of WWII stuff that is fascinating. Visit Auschwitz. Eat lots of pirogies.

Hungary has beautiful women and good food. Take fernicular railway and do one of the baths. Take a side trip to Hungarian wine country. Much better than you'd expect.

Czech - Prague is great. Beer, culture, just a fun place.

Slovakia - Bratislava is a lot like Prague. Beautiful old downtown. Classic Eastern Europe. Nice cathedral. Worth a day or two here. Stay downtown. Outside old downtown is ugly and somewhat sketchy.

Latvia - Riga is okay, but not worth the trip if it is out of the way. Lot of stag parties.

Croatia - Dubrovnik is gorgeous. The marble floor old city is something to experience and get some fresh seafood from the docks. Try to avoid cruise ship season as it sucks if they are in town. Split is beautiful definitely make a trip. Do not fly into Zagreb, that place sucks.

I spent about 2.5 years traveling the world for work. Saudi Arabia, Oman, Egypt, India, Borats homeland and few places in Asia.

My wife didn't work, but I will say this, even with out her working I wouldn't of wanted a kid around. To much stuff to do that is so much easier than having a lunkhead around shitting everywhere. Also I hate kids.

Are you talking about living overseas or just continually traveling?

Living? Go for it. It's awesome. My kids have lived in Egypt, and now Dubai. They've traveled to Munich, London, Rome and Tuscany and so on and so forth. Not to mention all the once in a lifetime things they get to do in their own cities.

Continuously traveling? That's iffy with the kid. Jet lag is a bitch.
