Comparing the team to the real world.

Good morning all,
I've been a lurker for a while, just haven't chosen to post until now. Perhaps you'll not want me to post again.
I have a prominent role within a company out of Florida. I start a project with a particular budget, and a particular time frame for completion of said project. If, for whatever reason, I go over budget, or fail to complete a project within the window provided, there are consequences. If I have these failures more than once, I get fired because then it becomes the rule rather than the exception.
When I say, "for whatever reason", I mean...If my team fails to perform, it is not the team that is fired, it is me, because I failed to get my team prepared to complete the project on time and within budget. Furthermore, if there are particular persons who repeatedly fail to accomplish tasks to which they are assigned, it is my job to replace them with someone who can complete said tasks.
I said all that to say this...
If LSU doesn't have players, it is because Les Miles didn't get the players. If the players we have are not performing, it is because Les Miles is not preparing the players to perform. If the team is not playing well, it is because Les Miles has not coached them to play well.
Now I'm not saying whether or not to keep Les Miles, or fire him. I'm just stating a fact that some seem to over look, and that is, as my late grandfather might have said..."The Fish stinks from the Head!"

I say keep posting, all you are doing is telling it like it is. If there are those that don't like it, then they really need to stop drinking the purple Kool-Aid.

Does your key staff turn over every 2-3 years? No?
Are they replaced not with other experienced personnel, but with completely green grads? No?
Ah, so you have no clue how much different your "business" is than premier college football.

Oh great...I figured one of these "compare football to the real world" posts was coming. It is so relevant.
I am still waiting for the post about how Les is the CEO of the company and if the company isn't performing...blah blah blah

of course you are correct BUT you have to consider the total body of work and you have to understand coaching is not exactly like your job.
les miles has brought this team to 2 NC games and won one. his team has won 2 SEC championships and he has them competing for the SEC west almost every year.
no matter what analogy you use, les's total body of work puts him in the top echelon of college coaches, esp since we are in the most difficult division in the most difficult conference in the country.
this team is struggling big time on both sides of the ball. firing a head coach 5 or 6 games in because he's having a bad year is stupid. not to mention it would cost millions of dollars to do so.
the very least you "headhunters" could do is let the season play out. I think les miles deserves that and so do our players.
call me all the names you want (which is damn popular on the board) but firing les miles right now would be big time irresponsible and foolish at best.
I am a retired sales manager; I damn sure didn't fire my best salesmen. if I had I would have made a lot less money and perhaps would have been fired myself. how's that for a real world analogy?
