In the Tennessee game in 2005 he tried to call a timeout after an interception, not realizing that the clock stops on a change of possession. Bo Pelini had to run down the sidelines and tackle him to keep him from wasting LSU's last timeout of the half.

In 2014 he tells the media that he couldn't call a timeout with 10 seconds left in the half because the chains were being moved.

Ten seasons at LSU and he still can't be trusted to call timeouts correctly. You can't fix stupid.
