102K + stadium, it is something to consider in all of this

Athletic budget is based on the stadium sold out and concession revenue. Also, having it half empty will impact recruiting and national perception. Too much $ and public perception at risk to let this situation get out of hand.

Maybe they'll be forced to join the 19th century and dare to sell beer

The situation got out of hand when Alleva believed Miles would leave for Arkansas and have him an extension.

Miles buyout money is now sitting on top the south endzone.

You do realize that virtually every ticket is already sold rather people actually show up or not, right?
Actual attendance might suck but tickets sold will still be high.

I'm hoping that the "hate" factor will bring the fans in for the Ole Miss and Bama games.
It would be great if we could have both of those at night.

I am aware. You do realize next season will happen assuming that the world doesn't come to an end?

Exactly and if we dump every SEC game this season, look for season tickets to open up.
Talked to too many multiple decade long season ticket holders that are just simply done. It has gotten too expensive and overly commercialized. Plus getting out of Tiger Stadium is beyond cumbersome.
Might as well watch at home and go pay a scalper to go to a decent game if you want.
The rewards of loyalty to the school and program are now outweighed by the expense and inconveniences. Add a crappy coach(s) and team = Adios.

Yeah but the suites have multiple year lease contracts and that's where most of the money comes from

Yes, and people are not going to give up their season tickets over one bad year. If they do, I will snatch up additional season tickets.
Overreact much?

Whether, the stadium needed to be expanded is debatable, but it isn't impacting the performance on the field.

I couldn't imagine paying the money season ticket holders pay for this garbage
Posted on 10/5/14 at 1:32 pm to monsterballads
$3,000 + for 4 SEZ tickets and parking.
Been having tickets for 20 years but Probably time to rethink it after this season.

Well, some of us go to every game regardless.
Season ticket sales aren't going down anytime soon. We would have to completely fall off the map for several years for that to happen.

Not sure about that one.
Been hearing way too many long time season ticket holders saying it is too expensive, beyond commercialized and very inconvenient.
It is just not the same game day experience.
Just saying ..........

About to lose money soon. I'm not going to anymore games and most people I talk to feel similar. I'm sick of the same issues under Miles never getting fixed. I knew we were young but I can't support a selfish coach who can't swallow his pride. Dinardo did the same exact thing. We are heading there without a drastic change under those long sleeve jackets on he sidelines. Watch some games and see the difference between what we do and what works. Adapt. Evolve. Move forward. If not, I'll find a new hobby each fall because it's not fun anymore. If football isn't fun I'm not gonna pay to support it.

Watch it on TV - save time, money and avoid to game day aggravations of travel, commercialized crap in the stadium and the atrocious traffic going home ..........
Seems like the negatives far outweigh the positives in today's environment.
And if you want to go to a game, tickets are readily available without paying the TAF Graf too ........
