Good Records mentioned on their website that their best selling LP this week is Budos Band - Burnt Offering. Listened to them on Spotify and I really like it. A instrumental, great sound.

Does anyone have the reissue of Pink Floyds The Wall, and if so, do you know if I can peel this sticker with the name of the album off the front or will it frick up the album cover? I think the original didn't have the album title on the outside of I'm not mistaken

I have the original, the original "CBS Half Speed Master", and the reissue. The first two just have the white bricks without "The Wall". You can not peel off The Wall from the front cover of the reissue without damage.
FWIW...the Half Speed Master still sounds better than the reissue.

The fact that that creates music astounds me.

That Edison figured out how to do it in 1877 is also pretty astounding.

Giving this a spin. This one's got one of the greatest songs of all time as the opening track, in my opinion. And it's the one everyone is sure to know.

If any of you are ever looking for old vinyl in the shreveport area, go to Campus Collectibles on Kings Highway across from George's Grill. It's an antique store in the front but they have an entire record store in the back. My cousin works in there and he knows a lot about what they have in there. Easily a few hundred thousand records in there.

Just a little technical info some of you may enjoy regarding what a "phono stage" or "phono amp" does as the signal leaves the cartridge en route to the Pre amp or power amp.
When a vinyl record is made the volume of the bass is reduced and the treble is increased. Otherwise, the bass would cut a groove too big for a stylus to read or for the music to fit the record. The phonostage reverses the process by taking the delicate signal from your cartridge and adjusting it so that the bass and treble are restored to their original volume. This common standard is known as the RIAA curve.
You will often see RIAA printed on many LPs from the 60's and 70's as it was a relatively new standard. Prior to this, different record companies had their own equalization curves (Decca comes to mind) and there was really no standard.
RIAA changed that and the above is the explanation why it was needed.
Enjoy the listen...

Listened to all my pink Floyd albums yesterday. Sounds so good. I also received a weight to put on my record to reduce vibrations. Along with that I got one of those overhang tools that helps you measure where to screw the cartridge on the tonearm. Haven't changed my cartridge yet though.
