Anywhere in New Orleans actualy in Jefferson Parish??

Can anyone explain this to me. I googled NOLA sales tax rate. Wasn't sure exactly what it was at now.
The part that I don't get is the "part of nola is located in jefferson parish"...??? :wutwutwutwut:
I did return something to CVS on Carrolton by Cosco the other day and the tax rate was 8.5 and the girl told me it's the only store in NO that isn't at 9 from what she remembers working at other stores.
And this isn't a money board topic, more of a "where is New Orleans considered Jeff Parish?"
Am I just stupid and should know this?

I believe it is the part of Jefferson Parish that has a zip code that begins with 701.

Harahan is considered New Orleans but is in Jefferson.

Harahan, River Ridge, Elmwood and parts of the corridor along Jefferson Highway are in New Orleans. The airport is located in Kenner but it is owned by New Orleans.

Jefferson Parish isn't 8.5%. It's 8.75%.
Orleans is 9%.

West End Park used to have the parish line painted in the parking lot. There was one restaurant there (Bruning's maybe) that straddled that line and had separate cash registers for each side of it.
