That is a great one. Its hilarious, but I laugh way harder at Cheers. And it's not close.

Does Cheers get better or worse when Diane and Coach leave? They are pretty much my favorite characters.

A little worse, but it's still great after they leave. I enjoyed Kirstie Alley's character better than Diane. Diane was such a beatdown wet blanket, but that aspect made her great for the show. The Sam & Diane dynamic was also great, and they tried to replicate it with Kirstie Alley, but it didn't always work.

Woody replaced Coach, and Woody was good, but Coach made that show those early seasons. Woody was more of a bit character to me.

And the Cheers-Seinfeld argument is kind of pointless. Both were great shows, but totally different humor so hard to compare them. It's doubtful Seinfeld would have even survived without Cheers though. It was pretty bad the first 2 seasons, but somehow got the coveted slot either before or after(forget which) Cheers on Thursday night.
