....Bridges told CBS2’s Kristine Lazar.

An Inland Empire mother made the ultimate sacrifice for her newborn daughter when she refused lifesaving treatment for bone cancer.

Ashley Bridges was 10 weeks pregnant when she learned of her diagnosis. Although doctors recommended she start chemotherapy immediately, it would have required her to terminate her pregnancy.

“There’s no way I could kill a healthy baby because I’m sick,” Bridges told CBS2’s Kristine Lazar. During her third trimester, at eight months, Bridges was told that delaying treatment had allowed the cancer to spread.

“That’s basically when they told me that it was terminal,” she said.

Not surprised this is getting only fringe news coverage.

Isn't it great in this country she was able to make that "choice".

That would be a tough decision to be a part of if it was my wife. I really don't have very strong opinions on abortion, kinda neutral on it.

One one hand, you abort the baby and get treatment to "hopefully" save your wife's life. She could still die from cancer and then you're left with nothing. No wife, no child. If she beats the cancer, you can possibly have another child or adopt.

On the other hand, you're basically trading your wife's life for the child.

Tough decision.

That... is what a hero is, imo. Giving up one's life for the love of another life.

Also, one of the very rare instances that the life of the mother is in play. Something that is vastly overplayed by the pro-abortion crowd.
