Plus how was it stolen yet a second time?
maybe they stole the keys when they stole the truck the first time...
The majority of the cars that are stolen in new orleans are because people leave their valet key in the glove box. The thieves will look for cars that are left unlocked and go through the gloved box looking for spare keys....if they find them then they score....they will ditch the car and keep the keys

Don't understand the last paragraph from this article. It needs further explanation. Horrible reporting.

Peake contacted WDSU late Monday evening to say the truck thieves returned. He said just before 9 p.m., he heard the truck’s engine start. He says he got outside just in time to see someone plowing through his back gate and taking off down the road in the truck. At last check, Peake was waiting on NOPD to get to his residence.

That makes sense. I guess I was confused because the article said his car was stolen but then the next day he said they followed the perps until they left the truck abandoned which at that point they drove it home.
Based on the article, I assumed when the perps left it they left behind everything. I mean also left a gun and a blunt so I assumed they left the keys too.

Came back for the gun that was probably involved in a murder or something.
