LSU greek life blows compared to Alabamas. I go visit m LSU Kappa Sigs used to be legit. What happened? I had some good friends that were Gammas.

They still are a good chapter. Just greek life here in general is pathetic. So many rules about no kegs, no alcohol openly available at parties, no one drinking on the row on gameday eve. The few times ive made the trip over to UA for parties, I wanted to stay. I was a delegate for a chapter and got to meet Sanders well - hes destroying greek life. The school doesnt give a frick either. Greeks donate a lot back to the university yet the school continues to punish the chapters.

Because their alumni run shite at Bama. The LSU greek community bowed to outside pressure a long time ago

1) I wouldn't blame J. Sanders/A. Guillory for all of our "current problems." Greek Life has only grown under their tenure; they've also cautiously kept our risks at bay during this period too. Compare our PR to Alabama's the past 2-3 years. It's been a complete nightmare for their IFC/etc. I know both well & don't agree with many things they have done but have to give them credit for many aspects too. In regards to not allowing kegs & etc, that's a national rule for 99% of fraternities.

2) We are building a new sorority house on campus for the first time in 30 years and the expansion team is adding an additional sorority on campus next year. With 25+% of girls involved in Greek Life, 100+ pledge classes, the addition of Alpha Phi wasn't enough to meet the demand.

3) What we've seen at Alabama the past 5 or so years is absolutely insane & somewhat contrived. Over the past decade, they've literally experienced a $200+ million greek housing building boom that's been financed by public debt. LSU isn't taking this route & the momentum has clearly been in their court for a few years. At LSU, most fraternities have to front the cost of their housing costs (however, the new Alpha Phi house currently being built will be owned by LSU Residential Life & will be rented to Alpha Phi).

4) I wouldn't consider Alabama's greek life superior to ours in any way shape or form other than by houses (which I agree plays a huge role in perception). Their state has just made a commitment in helping secure financing for their greek system while Louisiana is giving money to businesses to relocate here.

5) Kappa Sig is breaking ground on this bad boy soon btw
