No. What is beyond comprehension is the tacit approval that people with your viewpoint give to players who desert the team a year or two early and who leave gaping holes in whatever remains of that team because they were too self-focused to care about their team, too unable to postpone their instant gratification aspirations, too unbelievably greedy for money to consider what impact their early departure is having on the team, fans, and even college football as a whole. Remember "Show me the money!" from Jerry McGuire? Cuba Gooding's character didn't see his worth as long as the team and the game was to him just a means to get him "the money." It was only when he set self interest aside and began to play from the heart and for the love of the game that the rewards finally came his way. That begins in high school and college. But I'm guessing you never caught that message, did you.
And as far as the risk of injury, please. How many truly pro-bound college players get carted off to the nursing home? Are they really so fragile? If so, they won't last 2 weeks in the pros.
