Then most would be in hospital gowns...and I never heard of a ghost in a hospital gown.

I'd say most people who became ghosts didn't die in hospitals, but died in the place they haunt.

lots of ghosts are in loose gowns, so they could be hospital gowns or sleeping gowns.
