I have never seen an LSU team like this.

You've been around long enough to see much worse than this.
I was @ LSU during the Hallman years. We can work through this.

I've seen a lot of college football in the last 30 years, one thing I know is that you can't win forever. All great programs have their down years (USC, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Miami) and all those schools tried changing coaches and anything they could to try to start winning again. It's just a cyclical thing. All you can hope is that your school has a proven system/program, like the Patriots have in the pros. If you do, you have a chance to be a contender most years.

Don't know what the deal is with Gilmore, Bain, and Herron. Expected more.

That is the major freaking mystery. What the F is going on with them getting virtually no playing time? An undersized DE (255 lbs) and true freshman injured all of last year passing them on the depth chart. And Miles not even mentioning their names after calling both Herron and Bain beasts. And claiming Herron would be the starter after injury to starting DT.

Something is greatly disturbing about that situation. Did the staff go 0 for 3 on those three? Has neither developed well enough to get some semblance of playing time? Are all three, plus Johnson, so bad they can't provide any relief? That's 4 DTs, an obvious position of need, the staff recruited and has struck out on? If so, that is a very high percentage of failure. That can't happen at this level. It plays into the scenario of The Freak, an absolute "freak" DT who never reached his potential. Many fans blamed him, however, was it his lack of development by the staff?

I have not heard a reporter call Miles out on the situation. Either the staff failed in their evaluations or failed in their development of these DTs. Either way is bad for the program, which is suffering the consequences right now. Most of us, based on their rankings, and even some of Miles words about them, felt Herron (5*), Bains (4*) and Gilmore (4*) would be mauling offenses about now and reclaiming our DLU brand. They can't even get on the field? What the F? WOW! Mystifying!

Should not be too hard to fix, we only have dive play off right tackle or pass on 3rd. & 7.

The only chance this team has is IF the offense suddenly comes to life and plays lights out. The defense is completely moribund. Softer than the under belly of a fat chick. They won't stop anything this year. Otherwise, say hello to 6-6 and please to God, Les, say no to a bowl.
