I don't fish Venice a whole lot, but might be going this Sunday. There's supposed to be a 15-20 knot east wind blowing all weekend according to the weather reports I'm seeing. I'm guessing we should stay on the west side of the river with that being the case. Any help from people with experience with the area would be much appreciated. We're staying inshore btw. Would love to get on the trout, but have heard mixed reports so reds and flounder is our backup plan.

Fished all last weekend with 20-25 mph east winds, the river is jacked up right now and the east wind keeps the tide up and the water in the reeds...we were bass fishing, had to get in ponds to catch....didn't talk to anyone who did anything with the specs

...And the river was pretty damn rough

Man did you pick a bad weekend. Wind is howling out the north now and then pushing up over the weekend. No natural tide movement! Find some clean water(if lucky) and fish where the wind is pushing water around a point or pushing bait into a pocket. A buddy of mine is a guide and said the river was rising and dirty last week. I see its steady right now, maybe itll clear up some. Good Luck.
