Exactly...was being the operative word.

It's a rebuilding year. Face it.

Offensive line should be a lot better. we have the big bodies on the defensive line, they just don't seem to be ready or don't want it.

Herron, Gilmore, Bain, Valentine, even Mickey Johnson were all 4 or 5 star guys. recruiting is not the problem, those guys don't want to get better and kick arse I guess.

Uh... Those are Louisiana boys.

So you are suggesting that days of the State of Louisiana producing quality DLs is over?

Name one DL that 'Saban and other SEC schools have raided' that would have made a difference this past weekend?

I think the answer is two-fold:
1. I think DL talent has been down somewhat in Louisiana the past few years.
2. We lost two DL underclassmen to the draft. The defense would be fine this year with those two

We haven't had a stud DL in this state as far as a guy like a Dorsey. That was supposed to be Anthony Johnson, but he didn't pan out as planned.

We have some talent. Brick Haley needs to make it work.

I love how we trash these two guys for losses while they were in the process of building something here.

How are those two doing now relative to our current coach?

I get that. But Miles didn't lose to UAB/ULM either. I just get tired of the Saban worship, it is really the most glaring issue of our fan base.

I think Miles would be more highly regarded By LSU fans if he hadn't followed Saban.

Look at it this way. Prolly 98% of the posters on here have only seen LSU win two NCs.

And Miles has one of them, and prolly would have two but for an unlikely rematch

I think you are right. The offensive line looks a little slow off the ball and often seems to not know who to block (some plays guys don't hit anyone, other times defenders run right by them), which all seems to fit with a change in the scheme from last year. If it is a scheme problem, it will correct itself with time. Personally, I am a little concerned with the play at center, as they seem to be missing assignments more than the other guys, although that may be just that some of their misses are really bad looking.

Well that holds no water for two reasons

1. As stated they were building the program up for long term success
2. We look at their teams now and see they have improved as coaches and are still building programs

We see LSU as a program that is coasting and slow to adapt.

And there it is the "S" word.

I don't like Miles let's start with that. But to say LSU hasn't signed top notch players on both sides of the line is purely retarded.

Honestly, they totally dropped the ball in recruiting DTs during 2011-2012 and it shows right now. Anthony Johnson didn't pan out, Mickey Johnson can't even get in during mop up duty, and they didn't even bring in a DT in 2012.

It certainly doesn't help when LA guys like Anthony Johnson, Al Woods, and Chris Davenport don't live up to their hype, but sometimes other recruits like Brockers and Josh Downs will step up. That said, if you only pull in 2 DTs in 2 years, there's no way you can build some of that necessary depth and experience.

So we have been recruiting and signing top notch linemen. Some haven't panned out I agree totally. But he stated we don't sign ANY. We are young very very young. It will be ok. It's has nothing to do with Saban is my point. 03.07.11.15. Do we see a pattern??? This is a growing season I predicted 3 losses we are way to young period. People need to calm down with the sky is falling and all the Saban talk Jesus christ.
