he texted me from his phone. I buy and sell phones and stuff to support my fishing habit. I searched his phone number on facebook and the kid that sold me the ipod popped up on the screen. I knew it was stolen when he took off as soon as he handed it to me. He also left several of his social media logged in so I got all the different handles that he uses on instagram, twitter etc.

Also my intent is not to wreck his life but to teach him a lesson. Hopefully he would get suspended temporarily and his coach will rain down hellfire upon him for acting like a punk.

I'm confused. The kid who sold you the phone texed that phone from his real phone?
You said you buy and sell phones... do you deal with a lot of stolen property? Not trying to be rude, but it seems like there are a lot of phones out there on black market.
