I guess it looks nice but yes, completely impractical. You can either have a raw onion and pepper and med. rare piece of beef, or cooked onions and peppers with charcoal.

I do the meat and assorted vegetables on separate skewers. I like to to them because they are fun and you can get a nice char on all sides with a lot of grill flavor. But in the end they all get pulled off and put on a plate anyway.
