I can't stand the play 2 songs, one of them standing still for the golden girls, and play hey fighting tigers off the field halftime shows. But that's all they ever are. It's lazy directing. The band hired a new offensive coordinator a couple of years ago who was supposed to bring more imaginative shows into the rotation but he hasn't been allowed to do so yet.
What you're seeing is a band full of Roy recruits now. Every single Wickes and Moorhouse recruit is gone from the program. The band was able to hang on for a couple of years after 2009 because the older members were taught more disciple and a better work ethic. There's no comparison of a Roy King practice to a Linda Moorhouse practice. People were afraid of her. But they respected her and put a good product on the field.
The band is basically going through LSU football's 2008 and 2009 after the Saban recruits were gone. The football team and Miles figured out what they needed to do and the team improved trough 2010 and 2011. The band has no more Moorhouse students and the quality reflects that. Now the band needs to change their vision and plan or continue to decline.

Not getting enough grit from this band or staff. I remember the stress level being unlike anything I've experienced....and I was a trumpet player, we had it made. Linda would strike the fear of God into you when she called your name to chew the person 3 spots down from you out.
As a freshman in 2007 it was difficult to please the directors and staff with so much focus on the little things. My senior year was a breeze, not because of the familiarity of the program but because the entire work ethic changed without Wicks and Linda present. Truly respect and loved working with Roy but there was a spark Linda brought out in people and that's what made it great....not sure how they can bring that back

Except for the drum major.
