It is so easy to install and works better than any cassette adapter or fm transmitter

Help me out here, please. This is a question, not an inflammatory response, so please read it as such (hard to decipher sarcasm on teh webz, but I can assure you this isn't it). If I'm spending $80 and pulling my stereo out the back of the car, other than a nonstandard deck size, why would I go that route as opposed to an $80 (or even $50) deck that features an AUX in port? The price point on that option just seems steep with very little advantage to me. Am I missing something? The two advantages I can see are:
1) keep factory stereo (and most aftermarket decks are kind of flashy/ not the best looking compared to factory decks)
2) better sound quality than an external FM transmitter (though likely only about on par with an AUX port, which is pretty easily had in the price range you're talking about)
