Projects in San Juan, Puerto Rico. They throw full soup cans at you from the upper high rise balconies. It's like being mortared.

Some of you easily win. For me, Norilsk, Russia.
-Norilsk is the center of gulag camps.
-I don't believe I saw one tree or any sunlight. -The weather is brutally cold. I believe it was in the teens when I was there in April.
-The city has to be the most polluted city on Earth.
-Foreigners from Georgia, Armenia and such brought much crime and drugs so the locals were very standoffish. Everyone was giving you the stink eye. Some attempted to rough us up, but our workers intervened and explained to them we were there for work. In their defense, it was more aimed at the southerners like Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, but it was tough to distinguish when we were all bundled up.
The city was so depressing...it makes Detroit look like Hollywood.

I've been to Bahrain at least 10 times... I never felt unsafe there though.
Same here. The only time I actually felt a bit uneasy in Bahrain was one time I came stumbling out of Rick's and was walking back to my room when a carload of locals started to slowly circle the block giving me the evil eye.

San Berdoo County Jail. A facility to be avoided unless one has a proper gang affiliation.

I always say the problem with Puerto Rico is that it's full of Puerto Ricans.

Beirut, Lebanon. 1974-75. Fortunately, I got to leave before the really bad stuff began.

It was about .5-1 mile off Beale, but yeah it shocked me. Beale was well policed but we took a wrong turn and it got bad quick. It was also 2-3 in the morning
Us too. We went a little too far past the Grizzlies arena and the Gibson facility. Having a good time, laughing and shite and then all of the sudden it was like "what the f.....?". We also did the same thing the first night when we were looking for a liquor store. We started walking north from our hotel (Peabody) and it was amazing how fast it went from fancy Peabody type living to holy shite we're about to get raped/murdered.

Probably has less than NYC though.
